I was pretty much raised on Tzatziki.
My mum made it ALL the time.
She still makes it.
And I love it!
So I was pretty excited to see it was this week’s French Fridays with Dorie recipe!
After a day of netball… (that’s my daughter on the right!)
Soccer… (My son is the one chasing the ball on the right!)
And more soccer… (and a change in the weather!)
It was comforting to finish the day with a simple meal.
We paired Dorie’s Tzatziki with lamb cutlets and some grilled pita chips.
Everyone was happy!
We really, really liked Dorie’s tzatziki!
And by accident I stumbled upon a recipe by David Lebovitz for tzatziki that seems pretty similar if you want to try it for yourself… just substitute the olive oil for lemon.
I am looking forward to reading what the rest of the French Fridays with Dorie group thought of this!

Gah!! Netball! Those GD/GA printed on your shirt! Brings me back to so many (not very pleasant) memories.
Love that you served it with lamb. How much more Greek can you get? π

Loove tzatziki! I agree completely with using lemon instead of olive oil π

What a fun way to spend the day, and share your memories of Tzatziki with your kids.

Looks like the kids are having fun at their sports. I wish i’d thought to serve this with lamb (or any kind of meat). Makes my mouth water.

I loved Dorie’s tzatziki too, although I hate the commercial stuff. Love the happy soccer boy with that threatening sky behind him.

You family photos are great – thanks for sharing ! Really cute kids and I was getting very jealous of your weather…until that last photo π Now I have to go Google “netball”. I am very impressed that you served a lamb dinner with the tzatziki after a busy day like you had- I always think of lamb as a “special occasion” type meal, but kudos to you for raising the bar on the weeknight !! And boy am I glad my own kids didn’t see this or they would be jealous of some of our post soccer dinners. ~Tricia

My father’s admin assistant played netball as a girl in England, and was excited when she found an adult league here, years later. Looks like fun (as does the soccer). We really enjoyed this recipe, too. I’d love to do a comparison with Lebovitz’ version some time.

I enjoyed the photos of your family! I remember those days with our kids. By the end I was ready for it to be over and when it was I was pretty lost for a while. Im not sure why but I haven’t been to your blog for a while. I like the look of it!

Great dish and great posts. I wish I had remembered how good this would be with lamb chops! Now I want to do over my make up. π
