This dish was sooo good!
The flavour was deep and satisfying.
The lamb was so tender it just melted in your mouth.
Even my pickiest eater found it delicious and easy to eat.
I followed the recipe closely (mainly because in the chaos of everyday life, I’ve been taking shortcuts lately with less than desirable results! Ugh!)
The only change I made was to use Vegeta vegetable stock instead of the beef stock.
I’m assuming this wouldn’t have changed the taste too drastically.
And with some fresh crusty bread, we couldn’t get enough.
The kids loved it so much I put the leftovers into wraps for their school lunches the next day.
They all said it tasted as good as the night before.
And what an awesome school lunch!
For me, this has been one of the tastiest dishes in Dorie’s Around My French Table cookbook.
I’m keen to see if the rest of the French Fridays with Dorie group loved it as much as I did???

I never would have thought to make wraps out of the leftovers! Great idea!

You changed your blog title ๐
Glad this was a hit for you – using the leftovers in wraps was very clever.
Enjoy your weekend.

This was good Kitchen Therapy for you, right. And Wraps – brilliant. Who wouldn’t like to sop up tasty stew with a fresh crusty bread. Your kids are lucky.

I think yours is the prettiest one I’ve seen so far! I’m envious that your veggies are still discernable — mine turned into “sauce”. ๐

I like the new name of your blog. And the idea of leftovers in a wrap. I was also think the leftovers would have made a nice filling for a savory pie.

Yes this stew was so good it ranked right up there with m. Armagnac chicken – a might lofty ranking in my book!

I’ve never fully understood why, but stew is one of those foods which always mysteriously tastes better the next day. Happy to hear that your kids enjoyed it for lunch.

Beautiful! I’m glad that your young kids also liked this. I love it when they are getting their veggies in one sitting. ๐

I like your new name. The wraps are a great idea! I have tons of tortillas so Iยดll give it a try today.

I could use some kitchen therapy of this sort myself. Yum. Great job!

Beautifully done! I’m so glad your family enjoyed it…and what a great idea to use the leftovers for wraps. I will have to make this one in the fall when it’s cool again ๐

It actually did taste great the next day, though I noticed the smell was stronger. Your stew looks great and so colorful!

Your stew looks so pretty–like it was done by a kitchen stylist. I read once that when they take pictures of stews, they put marbles in the bottom of the bowl so the meat and vegetables rise to the top. I’m assuming you didn’t do that, or it wouldn’t have been a hit with the kids.

short, but to the point ๐ We served ours with the st germain biscuits and found it a complete delight!

I really loved this one too. I can see myself making it again and again.

It’s interesting how your stew had very little sauce, I think I just kept adding stock to mine whenever the level got disturbingly low! It would’ve been lovely to have as a filling in wraps like you did for your kids ๐
